Alan
Raitt
August 10, 2024
Alan Raitt, 66, of Woodsville, NH, passed away peacefully at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon on Saturday, August 10, 2024, after a long period of declining health. He was born October 6, 1957, in Saco, ME.
Alan spent his formative years in the Saco area, where he attended local schools before earning an associate degree from NH Technical College. On February 16, 1993, he married the love of his life, Pamela Ann Plante, with whom he shared over 30 years of marriage.
A skilled machinist, Alan dedicated several years of his career to New England Industries. His passion, however, extended far beyond his professional work. Alan was a gifted craftsman, known for his ability to build motorcycles from scratch, exceptional carpentry skills, and his knack for fixing anything that needed repair. His talent for creation and restoration was a testament to his resourcefulness and ingenuity.
In 2002 Alan's life took a tragic turn when he suffered a life-changing accident. Despite the challenges he faced afterward, Alan's spirit remained unbroken. Though he could no longer work, he continued to be a source of love and kindness to all who knew him. Alan will be remembered not only for the man he was before the accident but also for the unwavering compassion and gentle strength he exhibited in the years that followed.
Alan is predeceased by his parents Beverly (Clark) and John Raitt. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Raitt; his son, Jeremy Raitt and wife Emily of Arkansas; his step-children Kenneth Wholey and his wife Lyndsey of Woodsville, NH, Roger Wholey and his wife Madison of Woodsville, NH, and Megan Wholey and her husband Jarret Hoeppner of Las Vegas, NV; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emmett, Joshua, Dawson, Tristen, Joseph, Sebastian, and Stella; his brother Glenn Raitt; his half-sister Lisa Dagenais; his step-sister Patricia Casper; his step-brother Robert Kells; and his nephew Hunter Raitt.
Alan's legacy of love and craftsmanship will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A service to celebrate Alan's life will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 11 AM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH.
