Obituary

North Haverhill, NH- Alfred Peter Dolan, 82, formerly of Brushwood Road, died March 26, 2011, at Hanover Terrace Healthcare, Hanover, NH. Al was born in Boston, MA, on May 11, 1928, a son of Joseph M. and Della S. (Kelly) Dolan. He was a graduate of Hyde Park High School in Massachusetts and of Wentworth Institute in Boston. He served his country in the US Army. Al worked as a carpenter for Ryan Construction of Belmont, MA prior to his retirement in the 1980's. He lived most of his adult life in Hyde Park prior to retiring to North Haverhill where he partnered in the purchase of a large New England farm. Al was a daily communicant of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Woodsville, NH and was a former member of the Legion of Mary in Hyde Park, and an active pro-life advocate. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Paul J. Dolan on February 25, 2011 and by his dear friend Paul Martel on September 14, 2000. He is survived by his three sisters Mary T. Donelan of Norwood, MA, Dolores Howard of North Falmouth, MA, and Agnes McGuire of Mashpee, MA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; along with his dear friend Natalie Martel and her family of North Haverhill. A calling hour will be on Tuesday March 29th from noon until the time of the Mass at 1 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at 1 PM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 15 Pine Street, Woodsville, NH with Father Jeffrey Statz officiating. Burial will be in the spring in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Bath, NH. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph's Catholic Church Building Fund, (to be used for interior renovations) 21 Pine Street, Woodsville, NH 03785.
