Bath, NH Alfred Christian Haeussler, 89, of Plain Road, died on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Grafton County Nursing Home, in North Haverhill, NH. He was born October 3, 1922 in New York, NY, a son of Christian and Minnie (Wessel) Haeussler. Alfred served with U.S. Navy during World War II from October 31, 1943 to May 18, 1946. He married Ruth Groner on February 19, 1971. Alfred worked for 42 years in Research and Development with Sperry Gyroscope Company in Lake Success, NY. They lived in West Hempstead, Long Island, NY. Alfred and Ruth bought a piece of property on Plain Road in the 1970 s and retired to Bath permanently in November 1983. In his childhood years he was active with the Boy Scouts. Alfred and Ruth attended the Bath Congregational Church. He always enjoyed working on the Old Home Day in Bath. He loved to help people and was known for being a people person . Alfred loved spending time with his family. He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Wietzel. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Ruth (Groner) Haeussler of Bath; three daughters, Patti Grasso and husband Carl of Huntington, NY, Suzanne Keene of Buffalo, NY, and Barbara Host of San Diego, CA; a son, Harold Host and his wife Pam of Atlanta, GA; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one nephew, John Wietzel. There will be no calling hours. A celebration of his life will be on Saturday, May 5, at 3 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH, with Rev. Lyn Winter officiating.
