Obituary

Bath, NH - Alice Todd (Drew) Castello, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the age of 103. Alice was born to Fred and Celina (Mercer) Todd and grew up on the ancestral family farm known as "Todd Homestead" in New London, New Hampshire. She attended local schools including Colby Academy, Colby Jr. College now known as Colby Sawyer College. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Oberlin College. In later years she completed several semesters of study at Boston University's School of Music. She was a teacher of music at schools in Newport, Sunapee, and Woodsville, NH. After retirement she taught in Piermont, Monroe, and Bath, NH. She was an accompanist for the North Country Chorus for several seasons and was a teacher of piano for over 65 years. Alice was a former member of the Piano Teachers Guild and the Music Educator's Conference (MENC). Locally, she belonged to the Progressive Club, the Lioness Club, and the Cottage Hospital Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her 1st husband, Stanley Drew in 1942 and her 2nd Husband Luigi Castello in 1985, two sons Peter and James, her only sibling Edward Todd and wife Louise. She is survived by her two sons, Joseph (Jay) and wife Laurie and their daughters, Mary and Jessie and Paul and wife Dianne and their children, Peter and wife Sue, Melissa and husband Seth Butson, Christina and husband Michael Tetreault, their sons, Landon and Brendan; James' children Levi, Sarah, and Ariel; two nephews, Andrew Todd and Michael Todd and wife Suzanne; and cousins. Private burial services will be observed by the family in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Bath, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Woodsville High School Music Department, 9 High Street, Woodsville, NH 03785. So, with face lit with delight And all gratitude, I stay Yet to press their hands and say Thanks. - So fine a time! Good night.
