Monroe, NH Alice Elizabeth Girouard, 86, of Barnet Road, died on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the Grafton County Nursing Home in North Haverhill, NH. She was born in Hanover, NH, December 16, 1924, the daughter of Edward and Bertha (Crowell) Moore. Alice graduated from McIndoe Falls Academy, class of 1942. She married Donald L. Girouard on December 14, 1946. A lifelong resident of the local area, she was a full time wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. Her kitchen table was always open and the coffee pot was always on. She taught many children and adults to knit and sew. She belonged to the Mary A. Glidden Rebekah Lodge of Woodsville, NH, the Bath Grange and the North Haverhill Girls Club. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Donald L. Girouard on October 22, 2004; a son, Michael Scott Girouard in 1951; and a brother, James E. Moore; and her parents. Survivors include her son, Michael E. Girouard of Spofford, NH; three daughters, Jo Ann Aldrich of Lander, WY, Jean Girouard of Monroe, NH, and Mary Saurs of Puyallup, WA; eight grandchildren, Shawna, Matthew, Amber, Adam, Meghan, Seth, Lisa and Hannah; 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Dunbar of Barnet, VT; and nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be on Wednesday, May 25, at 3 PM at the Maple Street Cemetery, Bethlehem, NH with Rev. Dr. Dwight White officiating.
