Obituary

Monroe, NH – Alice H. Heater, 85, of Plains Road, died Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at her home, after a period of declining health.

She was born in Newton, NJ, February 11, 1932, the daughter of William and Elsie (Walker) Howell.  Alice graduated from Newton High School, Class of 1949, and served as an executive secretary at Selective Insurance in Branchville, NJ.

Alice married William O. Heater on August 15, 1953, and he predeceased her on January 12, 2009.  Together they had moved to Monroe on November 5, 1995.

She was a life-long member of the Methodist church, first in Walpack, NJ, and also in Monroe. She was very artistic and enjoyed oil painting, cross stitching, and crocheting. Alice was a voracious reader, as well as being a pianist, organist, and singer.  Along with her husband, they belonged to a trap shooting league in New Jersey.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan Cooper and husband Charles of Delaware Water Gap, PA, and Eva M. Heater of New Haven, CT; one son, William M. Heater and wife Jenny of Kissimmee, FL; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her   brother Carman Howell on June 15, 2015.

A calling hour will be on Saturday, August 12th, from 10 AM to 11AM at the Monroe Community Church, 26 Woodsville Road, Monroe, NH.  The funeral service will begin at 11 AM, Pastor Earl Brock officiating.  Burial will follow in the Monroe Village Cemetery.
