Alice Fay Pierson, 90, of Cherry Street, died on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.
Alice was born on October 12, 1930 in Gilead, ME to Leroy and Evelyn (Wilson) Aremburg. She was a graduate of Haverhill Academy, Class of 1948. On October 15, 1949, she married Roger G. Pierson. They had eight children.
Over the years, Alice worked in the kitchen and for housekeeping at Cottage Hospital. For 17 years, she was an LNA at the Grafton County Nursing Home prior to working as a dietary aide for 9 years.
Alice was a member of the Woodsville United Methodist Church and was the vice president of Girls Club at the church. She was a member of the VFW Post # 5245 Auxiliary in North Haverhill, NH. She was an active hospice volunteer.
She enjoyed going to yard sales with Anita, bowling with the Women's League, and working in the kitchen at the VFW on BINGO nights. Alice knitted many blankets, stockings, mittens and sweaters. She donated many pairs of mittens to the church for folks of all ages. Alice was a huge Boston sports fan, rarely missing a game on TV. Her children and grandchildren were active in school and sporting events and Alice was always there to support them. She treasured the time spent with her family.
Alice was predeceased by her parents, Leroy and Evelyn (Wilson) Aremburg; her husband of 30 years, Roger Pierson; four sons, Rodney, Tommy, R. Scott, and Andy Pierson; three sisters, Carolyn LaBossiere, Marion French, and Fernwood Minshull; and five brothers, Rodney, Charles, Daniel, Raymond, and Lawrence Aremburg.
She is survived by two daughters, Joanne Pierson of Woodsville and Cathy Ricker and husband Kenneth of Groton, VT; two sons, Dale Pierson and wife Anita of Woodsville and Ron Pierson and wife Karen of Tucson, AZ; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Aremburg of North Haverhill and John Aremburg of Chester, VT; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be on Monday, October 26 th from 6-7 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville.
A memorial service will be on Tuesday, October 27 th at 11 AM in the Woodsville United Methodist Church, Maple Street, Woodsville, with Rev. David Palmer, officiating.
Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Swiftwater Road, Woodsville.
Masks and social distancing are required for attendance at Alice's services. Please understand that seating at the church will be limited.
