Obituary

Alice Marilyn (Langmaid) Seminerio, age 97 of East Haverhill NH and Concord MA passed away on March 5, 2025, at Emerson Hospital in Concord MA.
She was born April 9, 1927, in Auburn NH, daughter of the late Rev. Norman Jason Langmaid and Alice Dunham (Harvey) Langmaid.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Norma VanBuskirk (Lawrence) and Ottilie Proctor (Albert); and a nephew Robert DeSalvatore (survived by Linda).
After graduating from East Rochester High School in New Hampshire, she attended Boston University, where she met her husband-to-be Steven Seminerio in the College Choir. She graduated with a M.A. in English and continued for a year in B.U's School of Social Work. In her early years she was a social worker at Morgan Memorial and Perkins School for the Blind, and later in life specialized in Elder Care.
As the wife of a United Methodist minister, Marilyn served many Massachusetts parishes while raising their four children – at Asbury Grove Camp Meeting, Somerville, Medford, St. Stephen's (Marblehead), Cliftondale (Saugus), Melrose and Wayland. She sang in the church choirs and cantatas, and many duets with Steve. She was an active local volunteer as President of the League of Women Voters, as a Saugus Town Meeting member, a mayor-appointed Conservation Energy Chair, and was honored in 1972 as North Shore Woman of the Year. In 1992 the couple retired to Marilyn's cherished family homestead in East Haverhill NH, where she served as Treasurer of the East Haverhill Methodist Church, Secretary of the Haverhill Heritage Commission and as a volunteer facilitator with the Grafton County prisoner re-entry program.
Marilyn is survived by her beloved husband of 75 years Rev. Steven M. Seminerio; children Alison Rupert (Richard) of Hughesville PA, Andrew Seminerio (June) of Melrose MA, Steven Seminerio of Melrose MA, and Susan Strakus (Michael) of Lynn MA; granddaughter Juliana Aramo (Mark) and great-granddaughters Serafina and Forza of Andover MA;  grandson Matthew Seminerio (Emily) and great-grandsons Montgomery and Maxwell of Medfield MA; grandson Michael Strakus (Nicole) and great-granddaughter Jasmine of Clinton MA; grandson Paul Strakus (Penny) of Beverly MA; niece Lydia Caros of St. Paul MN and grandnieces Eleni AyoCaros (James) of St. Paul MN and Kyra AyoCaros (Scott) of Boston; niece Cindy Caros of Sunapee NH and grandniece Chelsea George of Merrimack NH; nephews Richard DeSalvatore (Karen) of Woburn MA, Andrew Goodwin (Marcy) of Marshfield MA, and Michael Goodwin (Michelle) and grandnieces/nephew Faith, Zachary and Giana of North Easton MA.
