North Haverhill, NH-  Althea B. Purinton, 81, of Woodward Road, died unexpectedly at her home with her husband by her side on Saturday, March 25, 2017.

Althea was born in Bethel, VT, on June 27, 1935, to Nelson C. and Carolyn L. Primeau.  She graduated from Hanover High School, Hanover, NH.  On January 5, 1954, she married Herbert R. Purinton.

In the past, Althea worked at Baker Library at Dartmouth College.  She has lived in North Haverhill for the past 17 years, having previously resided in Acworth, NH and Corinth, VT.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Herbert Purinton of North Haverhill; five children, Sherry St. Germain of South Strafford, VT, Christopher Purinton of Nashua, NH, Daniel Purinton of Hanover, Jeffrey Purinton of Arizona, and Kimberly Purinton of Vermont; along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In keeping with Althea's wishes, there are no public services being planned.
