Amy Ann
Spisak
August 5, 1937 – May 13, 2025
Monroe, NH. – Amy Ann Spisak (Arents), 87, of Littleton Road, died on Tuesday, May
13, 2025, in Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Amy passed peacefully in her sleep.
Amy was born in New Haven, CT, on August 5th, 1937, to Kenneth and Mabel (Clark) Arents. Amy lived and grew up in Hamden, CT. She got married on April 4th, 1959, to John Paul Jack Spisak. Together they raised 2 daughters, as well as owned and operated their own bar, "John Paul's Pub" in West Haven, CT. After making life-time memories and friends, like "The Superettes," they sold the bar and moved to Monroe, NH.
Amy spent her days working at Merry Meadow's Farm as a cook, where she retired at a young age of 75 years old. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, Jack, at The American Legion Post #20 of Woodsville, NH. She loved gardening, visiting friends and family in CT, playing cribbage, riding her golf cart like it was a Batmobile, and watching her favorite sports teams, the NY Yankees and NY Giants.
Amy had 7 grandchildren that she was very close to. She was awarded the nickname "Big D" when she became a great-grandmother to 6 children who love her so deeply. Even though she stood 5 feet tall, you could point her out in the crowd with her unique style of clothing and hats! She was loud and the life of the party!
Amy was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, John Paul Spisak, and by a brother, Kenneth "Sonny" Arents, who died fighting for our country. She is survived by her Connecticut family; daughter, Deborah Sommo and husband Ronald "Buddy" of Preston, CT; 3 grandsons, Ron Sommo and wife Stephanie, Matt Sommo and wife Nisha, and Vincent Sommo and wife Brionna; 3 amazing great-grandsons, Dominic, Jameson, and Landon Sommo; and brother, Richard "Dick" Arents, of Hamden, CT. Amy is survived by her VT and NH family; daughter, Jacqueline (Clement) Lamothe and husband Rod Stewart, of Bethlehem, NH; 4 grandchildren, Les Clement and wife Anna, Auntie Ash Lamothe, Samantha Marceau and husband Tennyson, and Cheryl Lamothe; and 3 beautiful great-grandchildren, Marley, Max, and Makia Clement.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, Sept. 27th, 2025, at the Monroe Village Cemetery. Following the service, family and friends will have a celebration of life at Amy's home in Monroe, NH.
