Monroe, NH-  Annabelle M. Fagnant, 86, formerly of Monroe, died on September 4, 2022, at the Margaret Pratt Community, Bradford, VT, following a period of declining health.

Annabelle was born in Benton, NH on May 25, 1936 to William Clinton and Mildred Blanche (Perkins) Smith.  She graduated from Haverhill Academy.

On May 19, 1956, she married Richard Andre` Fagnant.  As he was a long-time educator, Annabelle and their family moved to the areas he served.  For a time, she was employed as a Program Assistant for ASCS in Woodsville  NH.

She was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church and their Friendship Club in Woodsville.  Over the years, she and Dick were supportive of the activities of their children and grandchildren.

Annabelle was predeceased by her parents, William and Mildred Smith; her husband, Richard Fagnant on December 25, 2019; their daughter, Marie Anne Fagnant Cope on March 23, 2007; an infant son, Paul Fagnant; a sister, Irene Brooks of December 7, 1992; and three brothers, William J. Smith on September 13, 2001, Lionel "Bud" Smith on September 30, 2007, and Reginald Byron Smith on March 23, 2014.

She is survived by their son, Mark A. Fagnant and wife Karen of Piermont, NH; three grandchildren, Ryan M. Fagnant and wife Erin of Shelburne, VT;  Benjamin A. W. Koh and husband Daniel W. Koh of San Diego, CA, and Justin MacLean and wife Hannah of St. Johnsville, NY; two great grandchildren, Mason and Kendall; a sister, who is her twin, Isabelle Morin of Naples, FL; along with nieces and nephews, and cousins.

There will be no calling hours.

A memorial service will be on Friday, September 9th at 11 AM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville with Melissa Gould as Funeral Celebrant.

Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Bath at the convenience of the family.
