Topsham, VT-  Anne Louise Downing, 64, of James Downing Road, died on Monday, November 18, 2019 at her home.

Anne was born in Barre, VT, on April 25, 1955 to James A. and Isabel M. (Carbee) Downing, Sr.

She was employed as a hairdresser and beautician prior to working on construction jobs.

She enjoyed karaoke, playing cribbage, and cooking.  Anne also enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

She is survived by her son Richie Sampson and wife Sara of East Topsham and her daughter, Heather Hoehl of Newbury, VT; four grandchildren, Krista Downing, Lucus Veillette, Brandi Rowell, and Brianna Veillette; four great grandchildren, Logan, Dexter, Jordyn, and Jamie; a brother, James A. Downing, Jr. and wife Zoe of West Groton, VT; and three sisters, Elsie L. Brown and husband Mike of Bradford, VT, Wilma I. Dexter and husband Lane of Bradford, and Norma J. Hatch and husband Larry of West Topsham.

She is predeceased by two daughters, Jamie Sampson on May 27, 2005 and Nicole Sampson on October 3, 1974 as well as by a brother Jeffrey A. Downing.

In keeping with Anne's wishes, services will be private.
