St. Johnsbury, VT – Annette Elsie (Robinson) Hokes, 85, of River Road, died Thursday, September 20, 2018, at the Grafton County Nursing Home, North Haverhill, NH, surrounded by her loving children, nieces, nephews, and family.

She was born in Burlington, VT, April 15, 1933, a daughter of Charles H. and Elsie (Westover) Robinson.

Annette was a loving mother, homemaker and a remarkable cook to the delight of her eight children.  She enjoyed collecting cookbooks and recipes; and no magazine was left unharmed. She enjoyed watching the cooking channel and sitting in the kitchen watching the birds at her feeder.

Annette was predeceased by her loving husband Jim Hokes, four brothers Chuck, Earl, Timmy & Johnny Robinson, her sister in law Susan Robinson, brother in law Preston Chase, her parents Charles and Elsie, and a granddaughter Samantha.

She is survived by her eight children and their spouses, Charles and Sharon Readey, Patricia and John Muse, Daniel and Kathi Readey, Colleen and James Brough, Teresa Shufelt and partner Mark Kennedy, Joseph Readey, Lori and Justin Harper and Rebecca and Jeff Johnson.

Annette's biggest love in life were her grandchildren and their spouses Cory and Danni Mortz, Seth and Jiliane Gordon, Jessica Zopf, Cameron and Jenna Readey, Ashley Wentworth, Colleen and Rafael Rodriguez, Chris Bissonnette, Tristan Duarte, Jacob and Caleb Johnson, Chris and Jesse Tyler and Rob Tyler.  She is also survived by ten great grandchildren, her brothers and sisters David & Susan Robinson, Dean Robinson, Robert and Shirley Robinson, Clyde Tewksbury, Mary Chase, Ida Osgood, a sister in law Cheryl Hokes, and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

There are no calling hours.   A service will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018, 1:00 PM at the home of her son Daniel Readey, 46 Millers Run, Bethlehem, NH 03574.
