Corinth, VT- Armon Wayne Thurston, 69, died peacefully on Sunday, November 9, 2014 following a courageous battle with cancer at the Hanover Terrace Healthcare in Hanover, NH. Armon was born in Corinth, VT, on August 18, 1945, the son of Clarence and Olis (Claflin) Thurston. Armon attended Cookeville School in Corinth. He worked several years as a mechanic for Rossi Buick in New York. Armon had previously lived in Salem, NY for many years before returning to Corinth 25 years ago. He enjoyed hunting and riding the back roads of Vermont looking for wildlife. He was predeceased by a brother, Roberto Thurston. Armon is survived by four daughters, Becky Fay and husband Don Baril of Quennsbury, NY, Tina Comstock and husband Glen of Bath, NH, Amanda Thurston of Arizona, and Tiffany Thurston of Cambridge, NY; three sons, Anthony Thurston and wife Tracy of Fairlee, VT, Armon Bub Wilson of West Topsham, VT, and Scott Thurston of Arizona; his parents, Clarence and Olis Thurston of Corinth, VT; three sisters, Fleeta Thurston of Fairlee, VT, Sidonie MacRitchie of Montpelier, VT, and Zelta Corliss of Barre, VT; a brother, Sidney Thurston of Corinth, VT; a half brother, Burton Valliant of Illinois; 20 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be on Saturday, November 15, at 11 AM at the New Cemetery, Village Road, East Corinth, VT.
