Bath, NH - Arthur Stanley "Dugan" Minot, 85, died on Friday, November 06, 2015, at his home. He was born in Littleton, NH, on July 24, 1930, a son of George C. and Dorothy (Whitcomb) Minot. Dugan served with the U.S. Army from January 9, 1952 to December 11, 1953 and was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict. After receiving his honorable discharge he worked for Armstrong & Botsford, Company from 1955 to 1960 and New England Electric Wire Company in the early 60's. Later he worked for A.E. Esty Machine Company in Bristol, NH. In 1971 Dugan built his own machine shop in West Bath. From 1974 to 1986 he was a machinist for the Mountain Washington Cog Railway. Dugan always enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. His hobby was geology and collecting rocks wherever he went. Dugan was a charter member on the Bath Volunteer Fire Department in 1958. He served as a 1st Assistant Chief for many years. He was also a member of the Ross-Wood Post #20 American Legion in Woodsville. Survivors include a brother, Alden W. Minot and wife Betty of Bath, NH; a nephew, William A. Minot and wife Brenda of Bath; a great nephew, Will A. Minot, II and wife Dianne and their children, Jonas and Grace of Bath; and several cousins. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be on Monday, November 16, at 1 PM at the Bath Congregational Church, with Rev. Tom Peters, officiating. Burial will be in the Bath Village Cemetery, Bath, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to charity of one's choice.
