Barnet, VT- Barbara I. Bowley, 77, formerly of Groton, VT, died on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at her son s home. Barbara was born in Barnet, VT, November 17, 1936, the daughter of Leo Avery and Gladys Viola (Brown) Greenwood, Sr. She was a graduate of Danville High School, class of 1954. For many years Barbara was the bookkeeper for Northeast Square and Dowel in North Haverhill, NH. She loved spending time reading, knitting, fishing, and hunting. Barbara loved her companionship and time spent with her dog, Baby. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard W. Bowley, Sr. on December 23, 2008, and a brother Leo Avery Greenwood, Jr. She is survived by three sons, Gary Bissell and wife Vicki of Barnet, David Bissell and companion Julie of Concord, NH, and Shane Mackay and wife Anna of Woodsville, NH; several step children; two grandchildren, Tasha Bissell and Maitland Mackay; a great grandson, Aaron Lee Pattison; two sisters, Avis Royston of Groton, VT and Shirley Braley of Canaan, NH; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Peacham Village Cemetery, Peacham, VT.
