Barbara
Chisholm
July 6, 2025
Barbara Chisholm, a dear and loved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who cherished all animals - chipmunks to horses, cats, and dogs- passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, at The Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. Alzheimer's was, ultimately, too much to bear, but Barbara fought hard and valiantly.
Barbara was 83 years old. At last, she rejoins the love of her life, Gerald (Gerry) Chisholm ("CG – Crazy Grampa"), who predeceased Barbara in 2009.
Barbara leaves behind Tracey Chisholm Cimikowski, and John Woodruff of Panama City, FL; Lisa Chisholm Doucette and her husband Rick Doucette; granddaughters Ashlyn Doucette and Lauren Doucette of Londonderry, NH; Bradley Chisholm and Lindsey Zehender of Londonderry, NH.
Barbara also leaves her late brother, Warren Loomis, of Norwich, VT; her sister, Betsey Loomis Whitney, of Norfolk, MA; her niece, Tally Loomis Jones, of Newbury, NH; and her dear friend, Florence Forbes, of Sandown, NH. All were loving and caring of Barbara throughout her busy life.
Forever, all Barbara wanted was "to marry Gerry Chisholm, have a family, stay at home with a family, a barn and a fence all around, and be happy".
Indeed, she did it all. Barbara exuded joy in learning about the world and was always devoted to the life and accomplishments of Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of Christian Science.
Barbara lived at 22 Holton Circle, Londonderry from 1978 to 2025. A busy, happy life, accentuated by family activities and her beloved pets took center stage. While she loved every living creature she crossed paths with, she had a tremendous soft spot for Doberman Pinschers.
At the center of Barbara's life were always her husband, her children, and her grandchildren.
Faith and fun times defined her daily life.
A private burial will take place in Benton, NH, on Thursday, July 17, 2025, where she will be laid to rest next to Gerry.
Barbara Loomis Chisholm truly believed in Grampa Loomis's well-known cliché:
"A Joy Shared is Twice a Joy"
Barbara shared joy with us all.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in her memory to Doberman Rescue Unlimited in Sandown, NH.
