Woodsville, NH- Barbara Sue Darby, 56, of Central Street, died on May 14, 2009, at her home following a courageous battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig s Disease). Barbara was born in Pasadena, TX, to Moses William and Mary Louise (Saunders) Hendricks, Jr., on September 12, 1952. She married Norman W. Darby on December 20, 1974. She served as a legal secretary for Wells & Cuellar, PC in Houston, TX, until her retirement in 2006, and was a member of the National Association of Legal Secretaries. She was a lifelong Texas resident until moving to Woodsville, her husband s hometown, in March 2006. She was a member of the Woodsville United Methodist Church and the American Motorcyclist Association. She is survived by her husband of 34 years Norman Darby of Woodsville; a daughter LeeAnn Darby of Elizabeth City, NC; two sons Jeffrey R. Hamilton and wife Becky of Houston, TX and Timothy A. Darby of Deer Park, TX; five grandsons Kaleb, Levi, Geordan, Brett, and Jake; a brother Bruce W. Hendricks and wife Debbie of Henderson, TX; and nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Calling hours will be on Monday, May 18, 2009, from 6-8 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, May 19, at 3 PM in Pine Grove Cemetery, Swiftwater Road, Woodsville, with Pastor Susan Ellery, officiating.
