Littleton, NH – Barbara Lincoln Bates Kirkland, 86, died on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Cohasset, Massachusetts, July 27, 1925, the daughter of Ellery C. and Bessie Lincoln (James) Bates. Barbara graduated from Bridgewater State Teachers College in Bridgewater, MA. She married Robert Emmitt "Bob" Kirkland. Barbara loved growing organic vegetables and using organic foods. She was very talented in making quilts, rugs, candles, and spinning her own wool. She attended the Benton Bible Chapel in Benton, NH. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Emmitt "Bob" Kirkland on September 9, 2001 and a grandson, Ian Selleck on September 11, 2009. Her family includes her daughter, Star Selleck of Edina, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Nicholas Selleck and Jessica Selleck; and her special caregivers, Charity and Cregg Brunelle Jr. of Littleton, NH. There will be no public calling hours. A memorial service will be at the Benton Bible Chapel at a later date. Burial will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Woodsville, NH at the convenience of the family.
