North Haverhill, NH - Bernice A (Wright) Blake, 103, formerly of Monroe, NH, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018, at the Grafton County Nursing Home.

She was born in Warren, NH, May 17, 1914, a daughter of Frank N. and Sarah P. (Smith) Wright, and graduated from Plymouth High School Class of 1932.

Bernice married Wyman W. Blake on November 10, 1934.

Prior to her retirement in 1973, she was an office worker at several area businesses, including Ryegate Paper Company, Fairbanks Scales in St. Johnsbury, VT, Walker Motor Sales, and T. Borden Walker Furniture Store both of Woodsville.  Bernice was a member of the Monroe Community Church.  She loved crocheting afghans in her spare time.  Bernice was the 1st recipient and present holder of the Town of Monroe's cane as its oldest citizen.

She lived in Monroe from 1953 to 2003 before moving into the Grafton County Nursing Home.

Bernice was predeceased by her husband, Wyman W. Blake on August 5, 1989; and a sister, Thelma Fosie.

Survivors include her two daughters, Norene Blanchard and husband "PJ", and Lyris Nihan and husband Carroll, all of Monroe; a son, Russell Blake and wife B. Carol of Haverhill, NH; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; one niece, one nephew, one cousin, and one sister-in-law.

A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, March 27 from 1 PM until the time of the funeral service at 2 PM at the Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, with Pastor Earl Brock from the Monroe Community Church in Monroe, officiating.

Spring burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Monroe Village Cemetery.
