Bradford, VT Bernice Sis (Gendron) Piper, 71, of Town Farm Road, died Saturday, January 11, 2014, at her home following a lengthy illness. She was born in Hanover, NH, on August 26, 1942, a daughter of Antoine and Adelia (Farr) Gendron. On December 19, 1969, she married Eugene H. Gene Piper. Along with being a homemaker for her family, Bernice worked side-by-side with Gene for his trucking company, E.H. Piper Trucking in Bradford. She enjoyed her home. Her favorite thing to do was to show up, unexpectedly, to visit family and friends. Bernice was an exceptional wife, mother, and grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband of nearly 44 years, Eugene Piper on June 11, 2013. She was also predeceased by her twin brother, Bernard Bud Gendron, and brothers Wilfred Pete Gendron and William Gendron. Survivors include her son, Neil Piper of Bradford; two grandsons, Andrew Piper serving with the US Army at Ft. Drum, NY, and his wife Robin, and Kyle Piper of Bradford; two brothers, Leon Gendron of Bradford and Antoine Tiny Gendron of Albany, NY; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. There will be no calling hours. Her memorial service will be on Friday, January 17th, at 2 PM at the First Congregational Church, Main Street, Newbury, VT. Burial in the spring will be in the Sawyer Cemetery, Bradford, VT.
