Lisbon, NH- Bessie Shawney, 91, formerly of Lisbon, died on Friday, June 4, 2021, at the Coos County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown, NH.

Bessie was born on February 24, 1930, in Littleton, NH to Adam and Emma (LeMay) Prech.

She was a graduate of Lisbon High School, Class of 1948.

Her working career saw Bessie employed in the shoe shop in Lisbon and as a waitress at the Mittersill Restaurant.  She was the caregiver for her parents, Adam and Emma, until their deaths.

Bessie enjoyed dancing, reading, going for car rides, animals, and especially children.

She was predeceased by her husband Larry A. Shawney on August 16, 2019; a grandson John Boutin on December 24, 1988; a brother Leonard Prech; a sister Pauline Letournau; and a son in law Ronald Boutin on November 28, 2019.

She is survived by her daughter, April Boutin of Benton, NH; her two sons, Richard and Lynwood Veilleux both of Lyman, NH; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service will be on July 17 ^th at 11 AM in Landaff Center Cemetery with Melissa Gould as Funeral Celebrant.
