Bath, NH - Betsy A. (Sawyer) McKean, passed away at her home on Wednesday August 21st, 2024, surrounded by family members and friends.

She was born on March 4,1964, daughter of Richard Sawyer and Margret (Douglas) Sawyer at Cottage Hospital town of Haverhill, NH.

Betsy spent her entire life in Bath, attending Woodsville Elementary and Woodsville High School. After graduation she worked as a waitress at the Barge Inn and for many years at Grafton County Courthouse as a housekeeper. She was hired by Walmart as one of the first employees when the store opened in Woodsville and continued there until July 2024 due to illness.

Betsy had many friends at work and two very close friends were Jenny and Amy.

She was married to Jason McKean on August 21, 1999. Together they had a son Jacob.

Betsy enjoyed her houseplants, outside flowers, art and crafts, all types of music, her cats and watching the wildlife outside her home.

Betsy was predeceased by her parents Richard Sawyer and Margret Sawyer, and brother Carl Sawyer and infant Carl D.

She is survived by family members, brother Richard Sawyer and wife Jean, sisters Dorothy
Woodworth, Fey Ward and husband Ted, nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
Special care was provided by family and friends.

Per Betsy's request, there will be no calling hours. A private graveside will be held at the convenience of the family.
