Obituary

Betty Jean (Brown) Chicoine, 89, of Hermon, Maine, passed peacefully into the presence of her loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday February 21st, 2019.  Betty was born in Groton, VT, on April 9th, 1929, to Robert Nelson Brown and Millie Mae (Frost) Brown.
Mom grew up in Groton, Vermont, graduating as Valedictorian before obtaining her cosmetology license in Manchester, NH.  While in cosmetology school, Mom met her beloved husband, Raymond Arthur Chicoine.  Their lives together began in 1949, taking them to Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Arizona, and Quebec, Canada.  Mom accepted the Lord as a teenager and Dad at 36 years of age in Tucson, Arizona, where they began their 30 years of ministry together.
Mom faithfully followed Dad wherever the Lord called him, starting in New Hampshire,  and ending in Montreal, Quebec, after 50 sweet years and raising seven children together.
Anyone who ever had the privilege of knowing Mom will remember her love for the Lord, first and foremost.  Because of Him, she was a loving, loyal, compassionate and faithful wife, mother, grammy, sister, and friend.  Mom and Dad's door was always open, and all those who entered found a warm, delicious meal, a listening ear, and a heart and hands ready to meet their needs.
We will never forget Mom's love of music, her beautiful touch on the piano, endless crocheted baby blankets and doilies, and  the famous, "Grammy's Donuts."  But most importantly, she was a Godly, spirit-filled lady; always gracious, kind, and humble; loving unconditionally and being a  prayer warrior for many.
Betty is predeceased by her husband, Ray, brothers, Robert and Gordon, and son-in-law, Larry.
She is survived by her children: Daune Gray, Millie and Tony Fonseca, Phil and Penny Chicoine, Gary and Gretchen Chicoine, Barry and Cindy Winningham, Marcel and Carla Jacques, David and Cari Chicoine, seventy seven grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brother, Kenneth, and wife, Sandy Brown, sister-in-law, Barbara Brown, many dear friends and extended family, nieces and nephews, and her very dear and special friend, Sam.
