Ryegate , VT- Beulah Davis Speer, 89, of Buchanan Drive , died at her home on Christmas Day, 2015 with her family by her side.

Beulah was born in Roaring Fork, NC on September 4, 1926, to Lattie and Delia (Shelton ) Davis. On June 25, 1953, she married Henry L. Speer.

Beulah worked with developmentally challenged residents at the Southbury Training School in Southbury , CT. Upon moving to Vermont in 1977, she worked for Woodsville Industries.

When she was younger, Beulah enjoyed hunting and her love and appreciation of the outdoors continued throughout her life. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, quilting, gardening, and canning. She loved her family and her grandchildren, especially taking care of the babies. She was very fond of poodles.

Beulah was predeceased by her husband of nearly 60 years, Harry Speer on February 10, 2013. She was also predeceased by a brother and a sister along with several half brothers and half sisters.

She is survived by two sons, Lewis H. Speer and wife Linda and Richard Speer and wife Candi, both of Ryegate; a daughter, Mary Nordstrom of Pine Bush, NY; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

In keeping with Beulah's wishes, there will be no public services observed.
