Obituary

Groton, VT- Brenda Lee Nurse died peacefully with family on July 1st, 2022, in Groton, VT.

Brenda was born on January 1st, 1964. She was born in Berlin, VT and was raised in Topsham VT by her beloved parents Harry Oliver, and Pauline (Emerson) Oliver. She later lived in Newbury and also in Groton.

As a child Brenda enjoyed playing with her family and being outside. She loved going camping and enjoying time on the water. She has always been an avid reader and was known to always have a good book in hand. No matter what time of year it was Brenda loved to be comfortable and would always wear shorts and flip flops, that way on those gray winter nights Brenda would be reminded of her favorite season: summer.

She was always helpful to her beloved parents Harry and Pauline and was a nurturing and caring sister to her siblings Todd Oliver, Troy Oliver and Shelley Towle. She enjoyed baking and mastered family recipes where she would spoil family and friends with delectable treats for holidays and special events.

Brenda met and fell in love with Clyde Nurse, and they had their son Stefan and their daughter Alyssa. Both children were involved in their lovely wedding ceremony. Although Brenda and Clyde later separated, their bond of love and friendship continued for her lifetime. Brenda loved her two children Stefan and Alyssa with her whole heart and devoted her life to their happiness. She did everything possible to be sure they could be involved in the sports they wanted to play, go to the camps they were interested in, and much more. She enjoyed watching both of her kids excel in sports at the Blue Mountain Union School.

Brenda also loved dogs and treated pets like one of her own children. Her cocker spaniel Simon spent much of his life with her, and she also loved to spoil her grand-puppies and grand-kitties Rylon, Oliver, and Elsa.

Brenda received her associates degree in business from Champlain College and later worked as a property manager for the Vermont State Housing Authority. Brenda loved helping people within her jobs at Head Start and as a property manager.

Brenda is survived by her two loving children, Stefan and Alyssa, and her beautiful grandbaby Braelenn. She also is survived by loving siblings, nieces, nephews, friends, and more. Brenda would do anything she could to help those who were close to her. Her generosity will never be forgotten.

Brenda's granddaughter Braelenn was the light of her life, and they shared many loving memories together in Brenda's last year of her life.

There will be a graveside service at the Groton Cemetery at 11 AM on Saturday July 30, 2022, followed by a celebration of life at the Groton Community Building from 12-3. Please Bring a dish or treat to share.
