Woodsville, NH- Brett Raymond Sutherland, 43, of Ammonoosuc Street, died on January 13, 2009, at Fletcher Allen Healthcare, Burlington, VT. Brett was born in New Haven, CT, on September 22, 1965, to Alexander and Isabelle (Raymond) Sutherland, Jr. He graduated from Oxbow High School in Bradford, VT. He married Theresa Donna Rose on August 10, 1991, and worked for Bill Nelson at his farm in Ryegate Corner, VT. Brett was a communicant of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Woodsville, and was a former member of the Ryegate Volunteer Fire Department and the Pine Grove Grange #298 of Bath, NH. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and outdoor activities. He loved working with animals and helping his father around his farm in Bath. He participated in the Special Olympics and won two gold medals at Smuggler s Notch. He assisted his brother, Alex for several years with his race team at Bear Ridge Speedway, and participated in tractor pulls at the North Haverhill Fair. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Theresa Sutherland; his parents, Alexander and Isabelle Sutherland of Bath; his brother, Alexander Sutherland III and wife Jean of Benton, NH; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral Mass will be held Monday, January 19, 2009, at 11AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 15 Pine Street, Woodsville, with Father Daniel J. Sinibaldi, officiating.
