Wells River, VT Brian James Boyce, 42, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at his home. He was born in Haverhill, NH, September 18, 1969, the son of David A. and Mary Lou (Burroughs) Boyce. Brian graduated from Oxbow High School with the class of 1987. On October 7, 1989, he married Cindy Hamlett. He worked for many years as an assistant foreman and truck driver for the Town of Newbury, VT Highway Department. Brian enjoyed racing, sports, hunting, fishing, softball, horseshoes, and basketball. He also loved going to camp for family get-togethers and for maple sugaring season with his dad and brother Bruce. He served on the Newbury Recreational Board as a coach for the Newbury Little League and Softball teams. Brian also served out his father s term as a trustee for the Boltonville Cemetery. He was predeceased by his father, David A. Boyce on December 18, 2011. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Cindy Boyce of Wells River; his three children, Brandon J. Boyce and Cassandra Wallace, Justin D. Boyce and Heidi Terrio, and Shanon L. Boyce, all of Wells River; his mother, Mary Lou Boyce of Wells River; his twin brother, Bruce Boyce and wife Tania of Wells River; his sister, Wanda Kosakowski and husband Stan of South Ryegate, VT; his maternal grandmother, Bertha R. Burroughs of North Haverhill, NH; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and numerous in-laws. Calling hours will be on Thursday, May 17, from 6 to 8 at the Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. A funeral service will be on Friday, May 18, at 3 PM at the Ricker Funeral Home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Boltonville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oxbow High School, c/o Bruce Bishop, 36 Oxbow Drive, Bradford, VT 05033 for the Brian Boyce Memorial Athletic Scholarship.
