Bruce Reynold Jacobs, loving son, brother, and friend, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023.  He was born on June 29, 1964, in Bridgeport, CT, and spent most of his childhood in Newbury, VT, along with his 2 brothers, where the family enjoyed being active community members.

Bruce graduated from Oxbow High School, and then moved to Ohio to attend Marietta College, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Economics. After college Bruce was a banker for several years in Ohio before returning to the Upper Valley where he and his father purchased the Dartmouth Cab Co. of Hanover, NH.  When they sold the cab company Bruce moved to Hawaii with a high school friend to escape the cold weather.  Later he moved to California's Bay Area, where he resided for over 30 years and was a dedicated California state employee in the social services field.  Bruce loved being a tour guide to his friends and family when they visited, and spending time with longtime girlfriend Thuy Le and her children Hannah and Khoa, who became his west coast family.  Bruce enjoyed watching Hannah and Khoa grow up and was an important influence in their lives.

Bruce will be remembered for his love of family, his kindness and generosity, sense of humor, and affection for animals - especially cats.  He always looked forward to his annual fall trips to Vermont to visit family and see foliage.  Some of his favorite places include Newbury, Groton State Park, Boulder Beach, and Harvey's Lake.  Bruce will be greatly missed, and his family will hold tight to the fond memories of the love and humor he gave them during his 59 years.

Bruce is survived by his brothers; Chris Jacobs, of Piermont, NH, and Thale Jacobs (wife Julie), of West Lebanon, NH; father Allen Jacobs of Somerville, MA, and Allen's late partner Jane Richmond's children: Chris, Heather, Terry, and Tori; and mother Shirley Brooks of Ryegate, VT, and her late husband Gerry's children: Elwyn, Carolyn, and Jeff; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a mental health organization of your choice.

A celebration of life will take place in May in Newbury, VT.
