Barnet, VT Calvin Sherman Bogie, Sr. 89, died on Monday, July 1, 2013 at his home on Whitehill Road. He was born in Barnet, VT, November 1, 1923, the son of Selby V. and Gladys (Clark) Bogie. Calvin graduated from McIndoe Falls Academy. Calvin served proudly with the U. S. Marine Corp during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. After his military service he worked as a welder at the South Portland Ship Yard and later he returned to Barnet to his family farm. He married Audrey Lucille Cassady on August 6, 1951. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Audrey Lucille Bogie on May 12, 2011; a grandson, Nicholas J. Nick Bogie on March 31, 2011; and four brothers, Gordon, Leslie, Lindy, and Carlot. Survivors include his seven children; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several step grandchildren; a sister; a sister in law; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In keeping with Calvin s wishes there will be no public services.
