Groton, VT Carl Louis Zambon, 68, of Powder Spring Road, died on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Alexandria, Louisiana, June 19, 1942, the son of Louis Basil and Mary (Coryell) Zambon. Carl graduated from the University of Hartford in Hartford, CT, Class of 1965. He married Marion Louise Pratt on June 19, 1965. Carl worked as a sales engineer for Accurate Rubber Products for many years and most recently for ACP Machine Company. Carl and his family moved to Groton, VT from Salem, Connecticut in January 1979. He was a member of The Wells River Congregational Church, UCC and was currently serving as Chair of the Board of Deacons, and previously served as a trustee. Carl also served on the Board of Directors for the Atkinson Home for the Retired in Newbury, VT and volunteered with the North Country Chorus. He was an avid member of the Vermont Auto Enthusiasts (VAE). Carl served on the Blue Mountain Union School Board in the mid 1980 s, and on the Salem School Board while living in Connecticut. Carl was a former member of the Universalist Church in West Hartford, CT where he also taught Sunday School. He enjoyed keeping up with current events and traveling within the country as well as abroad. He appreciated history and historical events. He was predeceased by his parents, Louis Basil and Mary (Coryell) Zambon. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Marion L. Zambon of Groton, VT; his children, Cheryl Fitzgerald and her husband Shawn of Kent, OH, Robin Furniss and her husband Steven of Clearwater Beach, FL, Erik Zambon of McIndoe Falls, VT, Roxanne Tapley and her husband Barry of Terryville, CT, Christina Anderson and her husband Scott of Chandler, AZ, Kevin DuPont and his wife Cathy of Marshfield, VT, and Matthew DuPont and his wife Jennifer of Worcester, MA; a step mother, Myrth Zambon of Waverly, OH; 16 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; a sister, Elaine Zambon of Dayton, OH; a step sister, Terry Zambon of Colorado; and a step brother, William Zambon of Ypsilanti, MI. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 from 12 PM until the time of the memorial service at 2 PM, at The Wells River Congregational Church, UCC, 68 Main Street, Wells River, VT, with Pastor Elizabeth J.
