Obituary

Carol Ann (Pierson) Ball, 67, passed away unexpectedly at Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, NH on Saturday, December 19, 2009. She was born in Hanover, NH, on June 15, 1942, a daughter of Wallace and Evelyn (Weeks) Pierson. Raised in Orford, NH, she attended Orford High School and after graduating attended the Mary Hitchcock School of Nursing, Hanover, where she became an LPN. Carol worked at the Glencliff Home for the Elderly for over 30 years until her retirement in 2004 . She was a member of the Willing Workers in Glencliff, the VFW Auxiliary in Warren, NH, Warren Historical Society, the State Employees Association, and "the Breakfast Club". Carol married Allan Ball of Glencliff, NH, on January 12, 1963, and he predeceased her on September 14, 1986. She is survived by her children Sheri-Lyn Ball and Scott Allan Ball both of Glencliff, grandchildren Tiffany Marie Ball, Allan Ball, and Reginald Allan Ball, and a great-granddaughter Rylee Ann Poitras. Siblings include Edward Pierson and wife Shirley of Orford, NH, Richard Pierson & Jeannie Williams of Fairlee, VT, Sheila Mallett and husband Dale of Bartlett, NH; sister-in law Nancy Fagnant and husband Fernand of Piermont, NH, brothers in law- David Ball and wife Barbara of Warren, NH, and Andy Ball and wife Pam of Glencliff, NH; two aunts Alberta "Birdie Glover of West Swanton, VT and Rose Glover of Connecticut, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. Calling hours ending with a service of remembrance will be on Tuesday, December 22, 2009, from 6 to 8 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. A celebration of Carol s life will be on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at 12 PM at Willing Workers Hall, Glencliff. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Warren-Wentworth Ambulance Service, PO Box 219, Warren, NH 03279.
