Monroe, NH-  Carol Shirley (Mann) Simblest, 82, died on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.

Carol was born on March 14, 1936, in Akron, NY, to Ralph and Gladys Mann.  She attended high school in Akron, graduating in 1954.  After high school, Carol commenced employment at Oppenheim Collins, an exclusive apparel store in Buffalo, NY.

In July of 1957, she married Howard Kenneth Boland.  To this union, two children were born;  Deborah Lynn Boland and Gregory David Boland.  Carol and Howard lived in Jamestown, NY prior to moving to St. Johnsbury, VT.  During their time in St. Johnsbury, Carol and Howard opened and operated the franchised apparel store, "Carroll Reed," which they operated for a number of years.  This union ultimately terminated in divorce in 1975.

In 1973, Carol assumed the position of office manager at the then named "St. Johnsbury Convalescent Center."  Carol retired form this position in November 1988 from her fifteen year rewarding career.

On April 23, 1984, Carol married Robert H. Simblest of Monroe, NH.  Carol and Bob built a home in Monroe and for 25 delightful years, spent their winters in Fruitland Park, FL and summers in Monroe.  During this period, Carol dealt in antique glassware and was quite successful in this endeavor.

Tragedy struck on April 2, 2007, when Carol's daughter, Debbie, died an accidental death.

Carol is survived by her husband Robert; her son Gregory Boland and wife Cindy of Hudson, MA; three grandchildren, Alicia Boland of Littleton, MA, Brian Boland of Hudson, MA, and Matthew Hill and wife Amanda of Lyndonville, VT; and three brothers, Gordon Mann and wife Cathie of Portland, OR, Bryan Mann of Naples, FL, and Thomas Blanchard and wife Sue of Lockport, NY.

There will be no calling hours.

All services will be a private family affair.
