Obituary

McIndoe Falls, VT – Carolyn Elizabeth Derosia, 76, died on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the St. Johnsbury Health and Rehab, St. Johnsbury, VT.

She was born in Concord, VT, on February 6, 1942, the daughter of Rupert McGinnis and Ruth (Bullock) Parker and step father, Forrest Parker.

Carolyn was Salutatorian of Class of 1960 from McIndoe Falls Academy. She married Wayne Moyse in 1960 and he predeceased her in 1967.  She later married Russell Derosia and he predeceased her in 1992.  For many years she was the bookkeeper for the family business.  Carolyn loved attending her children and grandchildren sporting events.  She was official score keeper for the Monroe Men's Club Tournament for many years.  Carolyn could always be seen at the Bear Ridge Speedway Pit Gate.  She loved going to other race tracks in the area over the years.  Carolyn was the first woman to serve on the Daniel Webster Council for Boy Scouts of America in New Hampshire.  In 1996 she joined the West Barnet Senior Meal Site and the meal site manager since 2010.  In 2005 she received the Presidents Volunteer Service Award, and also received the RSVP certificate of Appreciation in recognition of her lifelong experience of dedication for getting things done.  Carolyn was presented in 2007 as the Northeast Kingdom Senior of the year by the Governor of Vermont.  She was also awarded the 2016 Contract Achievement Award given by the Area Agency on Aging for Northeastern Vermont.  She will always be remembered for her willingness to lend a helping hand and always greeting you with a smile.  Carolyn sold raspberries from her home for over 50 years.  She was New York Yankees fan like her step father, Forrest.  Time spent for Sunday lunch at the Lackie Farm in North Haverhill was very special.

She was predeceased by her parents, Rupert McGinnis and Ruth Parker and step father, Forrest Parker; her two husbands, Wayne Moyse and Russell Derosia.
