Obituary

East Ryegate, VT- Cary Lee Pete Moulton, 62, of Ryegate Road, died on Friday, June 1, 2012 at the St. Johnsbury Health and Rehabilitation Center in St. Johnsbury, VT. Pete was born in Newport, VT, on October 21, 1949, to Raymond and Sylvia (Curtis) Moulton. He was a graduate of North Country Union High School in Newport. On August 21, 1971, he married Mary L. Midget Moulton. For 31 years, Pete was an excavator operator for Paragon Construction. Most recently, he was working for Chief Construction. Pete raced for thirteen years during the 1970s and 1980s at Riverside Speedway in Groveton, NH, driving the only pink car and was therefore known as the Pink Panther. For the past several years Pete and Midget were fans of Dale Earnhardt and traveled around the country to visit racetracks. He loved fishing with his grandchildren and had his own worm farm so they would always have plenty of worms for fishing! He will be remembered for his generosity and kind heart, and for taking care of his wife, daughters, and family. Pete was predeceased by his wife Midget on October 26, 2011 and by a sister-in-law Maxine Moulton. He is survived by two daughters, Lynn Marie Huntington and companion Henry Darling of Groton, VT and Susan Rae Moulton Plummer and husband Rob of East Ryegate; five grandchildren, Tyler, Cary, Teigan, Dustin, and Brandon; a son-in-law, Gordon; two sisters, Charlotte Poulin and husband Richard of Texas and Coralie Don and husband Ted of Bennington, VT; two brothers, Charles Moulton of Morgan, VT and Butch Moulton and wife Marlene of East Charleston, VT; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 9th, at 11 AM in the First Congreagtional Church of Island Pond, VT.
