South Ryegate, VT- Cathrine Mae Cathy (Welch) Williams, 57, of Stone Road, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at her home after an extended battle with cancer.
She was born in Haverhill, NH, October 26, 1956, a daughter of Virgil M. and Glenda (Burroughs) Welch.
Cathy graduated from Blue Mountain Union, class of 1974. She worked for many years as a veterinary technician at the Danville Animal Clinic. Cathy later worked as a paraprofessional in the Haverhill School District for nearly 20 years. She bred and raised Beagles for 15 years and was a member of the Vermont Beagle Club. Cathy loved the outdoors, animals, and especially times spent with family and friends.
She married Terry H. Williams, Sr. on October 2, 1998.
She was predeceased by her father, Virgil M. Welch on April 5, 2009.
Cathy is survived by her husband of 15 years, Terry H. Williams, Sr. of South Ryegate; her mother, Glenda (Burroughs) Welch of Newbury, VT; a daughter, Kylea Sutherland and companion Travis Palmer of Prior Lake, MN; a son, Silas Sutherland and wife Marsha of Groton, VT; a step-daughter, Cheryl Thornton and husband Bob of North Haverhill, NH; three step-sons, Terry H. Williams, Jr. and wife Christine of East Ryegate, VT, Ryan Williams and companion Crystal of Woodsville, NH and Craig Williams and companion Kim of East Barre, VT; two sisters, Carolyn Kimball and husband Donnie of North Haverhill and Alta Welch and companion Troy McKean of North Haverhill; two brothers, Dick Welch of South Ryegate and Duane Welch and wife Lorrie of Concord, VT; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In keeping with Cathy s wishes a celebration of her life is being planned for a later date this summer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center, One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 03756.
