Warren, NH- Celia M. Ball, 91, of Warren, died January 21, 2016 at the Grafton County Nursing Home after a period of declining health due to dementia.

She was born January 4, 1925, in Piermont, NH, the daughter of Frederick and Lucy (Sawyer) Jones. She attended Piermont Grade School and Haverhill Academy.

In February 1945, she married Herman G. Ball of Glencliff and several months later they purchased the house in Warren that she called home for seventy years. Herman predeceased her after 62 years of marriage on December 26, 2007.

Celia valued family and instilled that trait in her children. She created a warm and caring home with pure affection and unwavering devotion. Her home was always open to many friends as well.
She was in constant motion; cooking, canning, housekeeping and gardening. A stay-at-home mom, she did various things to help her husband provide for their family. She sewed baseballs and was the "Avon Lady." Herman had a small woodworking shop, "The Pine Tree Gift Shop," where they assembled plant boxes and in later years, lawn ornaments that he made and she painted. She was a talented, self-taught artist and enjoyed doing crafts of many types.

Celia was an active community member. She was a long-time member of the Minerva Temple of Pythian Sisters and also a member of the Eastern Star, the Ladies Auxiliary, and the Warren United Methodist Church.

Besides her husband and parents, Celia was predeceased by her sisters, Gladys (Hill) Emerson of Ausable Forks, NY, Mildred (Hill) Hartley of Piermont, Dorothy Verrill of Zephryhills, FL, and her brother, Frederick "Bud" Jones of Woodsville. A son-in-law, "Butch" Andrews also predeceased her in 2013.

She is survived by her loving children, Lucille Andrews of Dorchester, NH, Donald Ball and Wife Cecile of Campton, NH, Kevin Ball and wife Jill of Indian Trail, NC; and Loren Ball of Warren. She was "Grammie" to eight grandchildren; Tim Andrews of Loudon, NH, Jessica Andrews Deans of Greenland, NH, Jeremy Andrews of Raleigh, NC, Jonathan Ball of Sanbornton, NH, Jennifer Ball Golder of Loudon, Kevin Ball, Jr. of Monroe, NC, Michael Ball of Warren and Weston Ball of Dorchester. She was "Great-Grammie" to Riley, Caden, and Kate Deans, Ellie and Searra Andrews, Mckenzie and Gianna Ball, and Anthony Ball. Celia is also survived by her loving sister, Hazel Ames of Woodsville and many nieces, nephews, and several cousins.

There will be no calling hours.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date at South Lawn Cemetery, Piermont.
