Obituary

Glencliff, NH Charles Neal Belyea, 73, of High Street, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 30, 2014 at his home. He was born in Haverhill, NH, January 10, 1941, a son of Charles M. and Alberta (Harriman) Belyea. Neal graduated from Haverhill Academy, class of 1959. He enlisted with the U.S. Army on November 3, 1959 and was honorably discharged on October 10, 1962. Neal received his welding certification from Arthur Paige of Wentworth, NH. He later joined the union and worked with them all over New England and Canada. Neal was a union member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union #693 in Burlington, VT. He was also a member of many other organizations, over the years. Neal was a Life Member and past commander of the American Legion Post #0076 in Rumney, NH and Haverhill VFW Post #5245 in North Haverhill. He was a member of the Grafton Kane Lodge #46 of North Haverhill, 32 Degree Mason, along with the National Rifle Association, and Ducks Unlimited. Neal loved life and had a big heart. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling in his day. Neal loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed telling jokes and his laughter was infectious. Neal also loved to dance, listen to music, and was very musically oriented and could belt out a tune. He was predeceased by his father, Charles M. Belyea on March 1, 1980; his mother, Alberta (Harriman) Belyea on December 28, 1994; a daughter, Anne Marie Belyea on October 14, 1974; a sister, Phyllis Redman in 1988; and a brother, Delbert Belyea in 1994. Neal is survived by a daughter, Debra Belyea of Pike, NH; a sister, Elaine Belyea of Franklin, NH; a brother, Keith Belyea and wife Wanda of Franklin, NH; a sister-in-law, Judy Belyea of Dover, NH; extended family, Amy Aurelio and husband Clint and their son, Wesley and Joline Lakin and husband Paul and their sons, Gavin and Dustin; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be on Monday, July 7, from 6 to 8 PM at the Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. A funeral service will be on Tuesday, July 8 at 1 PM, at the Ricker Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Burow from the Glencliff Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Glencliff Cemetery.
