Haverhill, NH- Charles Harry Chuck Cleveland, 68, of Pine Park, died on Monday, May 31, 2010, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. Chuck was born in Hanover, NH, on March 27, 1942, to Alton Bud and Phyllis Arlene (Morrill) Cleveland. He graduated from Haverhill Academy, Class of 1960. He enlisted in the US Army on June 28, 1960 and was honorably discharged on June 15, 1963. While in the Army he worked in nuclear weapons assembly. Following his time in the service, he attended the Thompson School of Applied Sciences at the University of New Hampshire from 1963-1966. He moved to Erie, PA and operated his own dairy farm from 1966-1973. Upon his return to New Hampshire, he was employed at Trumbull-Nelson in Hanover from 1973-1987 as a heavy equipment operator and was known as the craneman. He also worked at Oakes Brothers in Bradford, VT from 1987-2008 and most recently had been working at Hatchland Farm in North Haverhill, NH. Chuck served as a Deputy Fire Warden and was on the Fire Department in Piermont, NH. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. He enjoyed the past several winters in Arizona. He was predeceased by his father, Bud Cleveland on January 17, 2002 and by his mother, Phyllis Cleveland on May 2, 2007. He is survived by his sister Nancy Cole of Piermont and her children, Jack Monahan of Orford, NH, Tracy Monahan of Piermont, and Frank Monahan of St. Augustine, FL. Calling hours will be on Sunday, June 6 from 2-4 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 7, at 11 AM at the First Congregational Church of Haverhill, UCC, on School Street in Haverhill, NH.
