Charlie, a lot of the times, would give it away to people that needed it or other people would purchase their wood supply from him. Charlie loved his garden, his cat Betsy, and pizza. He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Olga (Nelson) Rankl in 1994. Survivors include his son, Carl Rankl of Glastonbury, CT; two brothers, Max Rankl of Hebron, CT and Richard Rankl of Norwich, CT; and his great niece, Amy Baker and husband Lee of Woodsville, NH. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 11 AM at the Marlboro Center Cemetery in Marlborough, CT.
