North Haverhill, NH Charlotte Susan Danforth, 98, died on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the Grafton County Nursing Home. She was born in Melvern Square, Nova Scotia, May 12, 1909, the daughter of William and Eva (Fisher) Gates. Mrs. Danforth lived in Waltham, MA for many years and worked for Raytheon Corporation as a quality control inspector, before retiring to North Haverhill. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, crewel work and embroidery, and was a former member of the Deborah Rebekahs. She was predeceased by her husband, Elwood N. Danforth on November 24, 1988; by her siblings, Fred L. Gates, Vernon Gates, Viola Miller, Ernest Gates, Madeline Gates, Eleanor Upham, and Edith Magee. Survivors include her two daughters, Elizabeth Church of Sandisfield, MA and Mildred Hammond of North Haverhill, NH; five grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 1 niece; 4 nephews. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be Saturday, May 10, at 3 PM, at the Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH.
