Obituary

Bath, NH- Christine Ann Woods, 60, a life long resident of Bath, died on Monday, January 6, 2014, at the Grafton County Nursing Home, North Haverhill, NH. Christine was born in Haverhill, NH on March 10, 1953, to George C. and Beverly A. (Kellum) Woods. She was a graduate of Woodsville High School, Class of 1973 and was always a supporter of the Woodsville Engineers. Following graduation, Christine worked at Loon Mountain in the housekeeping department. Then she was employed by Connors-Hoffman Shoe Shop in Littleton, NH until its closing when she went to Connors Shoe Shop in Lisbon, NH. She later worked in the coiling department at New England Wire in Lisbon. Christine was very active in the Bath community. She was a member of the Bath Congregational Church and taught Sunday School for over 25 years. She belonged to the Rebekah s in Woodsville, NH and served on several committees. She also was a member of the Ross Wood American Legion Post # 20 Auxiliary Unit in Woodsville and the VFW Auxiliary Post #5245 of North Haverhill. However, Christine was most active in the Grange. She had belonged to the Pine Grove Grange in Bath since 1967, was active in the Northern New Hampshire Pomona Grange, and the State Grange, where she served as the Junior Deputy and on the Youth Committee, as well as participating in women s activities. She joined the National Grange in Portland, ME. In her spare time, she traveled and took many bus trips. She loved crafts and was always volunteering to assist with activities. She was predeceased by her father, George C. Woods on May 20, 2003 and by a nephew, John Woods in 1979. She is survived by her mother, Beverly Woods Wilson and her husband, David. W. of Bath; two brothers, David G. Woods and wife, Joyce of Littleton, and Paul J. Woods and wife, Susan of Lyndonville, VT; two special nephews, Sean Driscoll and Evan Woods; along with several other nieces, nephews, and cousins. There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be on Friday, January 10th at 11 AM at the Bath Congregational Church with Rev. Thomas Peters, officiating. Burial in Bath Village Cemetery will be in the spring.
