Glencliff, NH Clifford E. Ball, 96, died on April 15, 2009 after a brief illness. He was born in Landaff, NH on June 14, 1912, the son of Bert and Eva (Moultan) Ball. Mr. Ball was a longtime resident of Glencliff where he moved with his parents and eight brothers and sisters in 1928. In 1931 Mr. Ball went to work for the Glencliff Home (formerly Glencliff Sanatorium). He worked there until his retirement in 1970. After retiring, Mr. Ball provided help and service to many in his community as well as enjoying his family. In October 2004 Mr. Ball received the honor of the Boston Post Cane as the oldest resident in the Town of Warren. In his life: He was beloved by his wife of 58 years, Ardeth (Stimson) Ball; his two sisters, Helen Whitcher of Warren and Esther Whitcher of Warren; his three children, Wanda Bassler of Datil, New Mexico, Brian Ball of Glencliff, and Darleen Ball of Glencliff; his eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a large extended family. Calling hours will be on Monday, April 20 from 4 to 7 PM at the Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. A funeral service will be on Friday, May 8, at 3 PM at the Ricker Funeral Home, with Pastor Jim Burow from the Glencliff Community Chapel, officiating.
