Cody
Ricker
January 2, 2024
Ryegate, VT – Cody Joseph Ricker, 29, of Ryegate, VT, went to Heaven's Great Hunting Grounds to be with his beloved Grampa Harvey on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
Born a century too early, Cody was born on November 12, 1994, in St. Johnsbury, VT, to his parents Angela (Thayer) and Dwight Ricker.
Cody attended Blue Mountain Union School, and took Agriculture classes at RiverBend, graduating early from BMU. He went on to work for himself as a Hunting and Fishing Guide.
He was always an outdoorsy person; before he could even walk on his own, he was out hunting in the woods, and learning how to shoot. He was one of a kind; a true Northern Outdoorsman. His family and friends were his everything, though if he were to make a list of who he loved the most, his grandfathers Harvey and Joe would have tied for first, they were his idols.
Cody was one of those people who did well at everything he tried his hand at, from carpentry to plumbing, he was a jack of all trades, but master of none. It brought him joy to get people to smile and laugh. One way that he liked to do that was with his homemade firework shows. Two of the most memorable shows he did for family and friends were the "Outhouse Show" and one to celebrate his Mimi's 80th birthday. Another method for making people crack a smile was his pranks. He was known as a prankster, and once showed up at school with his homemade deer mask.
Everything Cody did, he did on his own terms.
Cody was predeceased by his grampa, Harvey Ricker.
His memory will be cherished by his mother, Angela "Angie" Ricker of Ryegate, VT and father, Dwight Ricker of Topsham, VT; his brothers, Trevor Smas of Ryegate, VT, and Daniel Ricker of Topsham, VT; his sisters, Jessica Ricker and her partner Lucas Downing of West Topsham, VT, Trisha Bartlett and Cody of Wheelock, VT, and Katie Ricker of Topsham, VT; his grandparents, Marylee "Mimi" and Joe "Papa" Vigent, of North Haverhill, NH, and Donna "Grammie" Pelliter of Dalton, NH; his great grandmother Irene Darling of Ryegate, VT; his aunts and uncles, Peter Thayer and Megan of North Haverhill, NH, Michele Fagnant of Piermont, NH, Adam Vigent of North Haverhill, NH, Ryan Vigeant and Shannon of Charlotte, NC, Rob Ricker of St. Johnsbury, VT, Emily Ricker-Bean and Micheal of Texas, Nate Ricker of Topsham, VT, and Samuel Ricker of Bath, NH; and lots of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Cody had a fur baby, a dog named Hank, who is also mourning the loss of Cody. The Groton Man Scout Brothers will forever hold a spot open for their lost brother.
