Craig Richard Smith passed away peacefully at his home in Groton, VT on October 23, 2018.  Craig was born on September 22, 1964 in Stoughton, MA to Francis & Jacqueline Smith.  Craig served in the National Guard for three years but unfortunately had to be honorably discharged to return home to care for his two children.  At the age of 19 Craig started his own excavating, trucking, and snow plowing business.  He was well known and liked in the area and earned the nicknames "earthmover" and "snowman" because of his love of snow and plowing.  He enjoyed racing and used to race at both Bear Ridge and Rumney Speedways.  He loved the outdoors, exploring nature, and searching for waterfalls.  Nothing though compared to spending time with his grandchildren Ethan, Fallon, and Ryan.  Craig loved all of the opportunities that he had to spend time and make memories with them.

Craig is survived by his fiancé & soulmate Kelli King.  Since Craig met Kelli he found joy and happiness in his life again.  Craig is also survived by his parents Francis & Jacqueline Smith of Canaan, NH, his daughter Crystal Smith & her partner Tammy of Enfield, NH and their children Andrea & Olivia, his son CJ Smith & his fiance Hope Brazee of Deltona, FL, his sisters Denise Brooks & husband Galon of Woodsville, NH and children Tom, Billy, & Stacy, Deanna Smith of Canaan, NH and children Joe and Samantha, and Jennifer Hobbs & husband John of Canaan, NH and their children Cory, Caleb, & Connor.

He was predeceased by his son Marcus Smith whose death devastated him and that he never fully recovered from, and also his brothers Thomas Allen Smith and Timothy Richard Smith.

Craig's family takes peace in knowing that Craig is now at home and at peace with his best friend Marcus again.  There will be no funeral services at this time.  The family will have a private graveside service at a later date.  The family will be having a Celebration of Life on Saturday November 10 from 12p-4p at the VFW Hall in North Haverhill.
