Obituary

Bath, NH Cynthia Ann Collins, 52, of Railroad Street, died July 8, 2011 at Cottage Hospital following a five year battle with cancer. She was born in Brockton, MA, September 2, 1958, a daughter of Edward and Eva (Menchin) Coulstring. Cindy grew up in Hanson, MA, attending grammar school and graduating from Whitman-Hanson High School, Class of 1976. She moved to Bath with her family in 1977 and worked briefly at the Forest Hills in North Haverhill. However, Cindy realized healthcare was her calling and earned her nurse s aid certificate at Grafton County Nursing Home in North Haverhill. She took many courses at Lyndon State College, Norwich University, and earned her RN at Berlin Community Technical College. She was a licensed nationwide dialysis technician at Weeks Memorial Hospital in Lancaster, NH for many years. She went on to be a registered nurse at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH for over ten years. Cindy lived in Littleton, NH from 1993 until 2007 when she returned to Bath. She loved all outdoor activities, skiing, hunting, fishing, boating, and camping at Willoughby Lake. She was an excellent marksman and enjoyed her bowling pin pals. Cindy also liked riding horses and when she was younger was a member of the Rough Riders Horse Club and won many blue ribbons for her horsemanship. She even rode her pony on her paper route when she was young. Cindy excelled in sports, belonging to the swim team, catching for her softball team, and playing linebacker for her powder puff football team. She was predeceased by her mother Eva Coulstring on August 11, 1994. Cindy married Roland Collins on September 8, 2001. Survivors include her husband, Roland of Bath; a son, Jason Coulstring of Selkirk, NY; her father, Edward Coulstring, Sr. and wife Jeannie of Bath; six siblings, Sheryl McDonough and Janice Wright both of Hanson, MA, Virginia Dennett and husband John of Bath, Edward Coulstring, Jr. of Bethlehem, NH, Laurel Curtis and husband Doug of Dover, NH, and Charles Coulstring of Benton, NH; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; her dear friend Auralie Achilles and husband Paul of Lyman, NH; her special family at 5 West at DHMC; and friends everywhere . Calling hours will be on Tuesday, July 12th from 6-8 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, July 13th at 1 PM in the Bath Congregational Church with Rev. Thomas Peters officiating. Burial will follow in the Bath Village Cemetery.
