Obituary

Daniel J. Brady, Jr. of Mountain Lakes, Haverhill, NH passed away suddenly on January 13, 2019 at the age of 78.

Daniel was born and raised in Marblehead, Massachusetts, the son of Irene A. (Essember) and Daniel J. Brady.  He graduated from St. Mary's Boys High School in Lynn, MA and Salem State University.  His professional career in hospital administration spanned 4 decades.

Service was a big part of Dan's life and is a trait he passed on to his children and grandchildren over the years. He volunteered to support a variety of causes over the years. Some of the organizations were the Woburn High School Band Boosters, Woburn Schools Scholarship Fund, American Cancer Society, Disabled American Veterans, Grafton County Senior Citizens Council, Town of Haverhill, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, and St. Rose of Lima Parish.

He was the elected Treasurer of Mountain Lakes District in Haverhill, NH and a Trustee of Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force who never missed a Veterans Day or Memorial Day parade.  Dan was an active member of the Cohase Lions Club and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.

More than anything, Dan treasured his times with his family and friends, especially in the waterfront home he built with Patricia at Mountain Lakes and in their travels near and far.  His hearty laugh will echo forever across the lake and in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Dan was predeceased by his sister, Phyllis Brady; and his nephew, Matthew Leland.

He  is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Patricia (Rafferty) Brady; his children, Maureen Brady Savage  and husband Thomas of Tyngsborough, MA, Susan Brady Barre and husband Gregory of Waterville, ME, and Thomas Daniel Brady and wife Jeanette of Woburn, MA;  his grandchildren, Benjamin T. Savage, Daniel F. Savage, Adam G. Barre, David B. Barre, Sarah B. Barre, and Gavin Brady; by his sister, Arlene Brady Leland of Marblehead; and by several beloved nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, January 20, from 4 to 7 at the Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, January 21, at 10 AM at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 77 Clay Street, Littleton, NH, with Father Mark Dollard officiating.
