Woodsville, NH – Daniel S. George, 60, of Mill Street, died Thursday, September 27, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Woodsville August 3, 1958 to Ernest Preston George Sr. and Helen June (Brown) George along with his fraternal twin Deborah J. George, Dan was one of ten children.
In his younger years he enjoyed hiking, fishing, hunting and being outdoors. One of his favorite jobs was as a landscaper, working on jobs in Lincoln, NH when the condominiums were being built. He had many talents, one of which was a self-taught electronics repair tech, he enjoyed the challenge of fixing what was broken and everyone knew if something they had needed to be fixed or installed he was "the guy". He had a small floor re-finishing business in the late 80's and early 90's with clients the likes of Patty Page, as well as working as a custodian at Bath Village School. Whatever job he was doing he always took pride in doing it to the very best of his ability, a character trait taught to him by his father and later passed down to his children as well.
In September 1980 Dan met Leslie Simpson (Harrington) while working as an orderly at Grafton County Nursing Home, it was love a Romeo & Juliet kind of romance. They married in January 1981 and together loved and lived life and raised 7 children. Dan loved with his whole heart and he made sure people knew our home was always open and you were always welcome. Many days and nights were spent with friends and teenagers seated around the table enjoying homemade pizza, fried pickles, onion rings not to mention many delicious bowls of corn chowder, beef stews, etc. and Dan's words of advice on enjoying your life responsibly, but always spoken in love.
He is pre-deceased by his mother Helen in October 2008, a nephew Zebulun December 2008, his father Ernest in August 2016, a nephew Ben December 2016, and many other family, what a blessed reunion.
He is survived by his wife Leslie of 37 years, daughter Debra and grandsons Orion & Leo, daughter Naomi and grandchildren Nevaeh, Niyah & Daxton, son Elijah and grandchildren Vivian & Lucian, son Noah and grandchildren Logan, Ayvah & Preston, daughter Sophie and grandsons Nash & Daniel, daughter Olivia and granddaughter Helen and son Gabriel, Brothers Walter, Mark & Tom and sisters Marion, Elizabeth and Dottie.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday October 13th from 1 to 5pm at Horse Meadow Senior Center. 91 Horse Meadow Road, North Haverhill, NH.   Please come and share some of your memories and enjoy some of Dan's favorite snacks.
