Daniel Earl Sweet passed away on July 28th, 2024, in his hometown of Newbury, VT, at the young age of 22. Born on June 24th, 2002, in Woodsville, NH, he was the beloved son of Cameron and Rachel Sweet and the loving brother of Kyle Sweet.

Daniel, better known to his friends and family as "Boone" or "Danny Boone" was known for his infectious smile, kind heart, and his ability to always keep you on your toes. As a little boy you could find Daniel running through the house in his rubber boots and a smile plastered on his face.  He attended Newbury Elementary School where he proudly played basketball, soccer, and baseball as a Newbury Knight. Daniel loved playing sports; he went on to play varsity soccer and basketball at Oxbow High School where he graduated in 2020. Daniel was also an avid hunter. While he enjoyed every hunting season turkey was his favorite. Growing up with family nearby, hunting partners were in an abundance.

After high school, Daniel worked at Pike Industries for a year and then settled at Swenson Granite in Barre, VT where he has worked for the last two years. He loved hanging out with his friends and taking his jeep up Tucker Mountain. He also had a knack for bringing animals home. His kind heart could always find room for a few more animals, like his pup Stella.

Daniel was predeceased by his maternal grandfather John Messenger, and his paternal grandfather Monty Sweet. He leaves behind a loving family: his parents Cameron and Rachel Sweet; his brother Kyle Sweet; his maternal grandmother Beth Messenger; his paternal grandparents Sharon and Stewart Sylvester; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

There will be calling hours Friday August 9, 2024, from 4pm-7pm at Ricker Funeral Home & Cremation Care of Woodsville, 1 Birch St. Woodsville.   A celebration of life will be held on August 10th at 12pm at the North Haverhill Fair Grounds.

Daniel's infectious smile and kind heart will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
