Daryl Gene Sulham, 68, of Ryegate, VT, passed peacefully on September 16, 2026, holding hands with his wife. He is no longer suffering the pain of cancer, and his spirit has begun the new purpose God has for him.

Daryl grew up in the Ryegate/Wells River area. He graduated from Blue Mountain Union School in 1976. While there he took as many Industrial Arts classes as possible. Richard Montague fostered his need to understand how things worked. Industrial Arts classes taught him how to make detailed drawings of projects/inventions.

He worked at several places during his life, but was most dedicated to Blue Mountain. He worked there for 40 years. He started as a custodian/maintenance person and retired as Director of Buildings and Grounds. He continually learned new things, many technological skills, safety regulations, staff management, how to repair many new types of equipment, how to adapt to new administrators, and how to recycle (even the things other people throw away).

Daryl and Cindy met at Blue Mountain, worked at Blue Mountain, and found an extended family there as well. They married in May of 1981. They celebrated 45 years of marriage this year. Daryl rarely became angry and liked almost everyone.

Daryl leaves behind his loving wife Cindy; his brother, E. Scott Sulham; his sister, Sandy Roy and husband Robert “Casey”; his brother-in-law, Calvin Cookman; his sisters-in-law, Julie Ramage and husband Billy, and Janice Patry and husband John; his nephews, Scott Sulham, Shane Sulham and wife Angie, Sloan Sulham and wife Jaclyn, Wayne Thompson and wife Stephanie, and Greg Crews; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, grand nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Danny and Peggy Foligno, Mike Gordon, and our BMU extended family. He is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Virginia (Hitchcock) Sulham; his sister, Violet Cookman; sister-in-law, Cathy Sulham; his in-laws, Burns and Colleen Page; his nephew, Adam Brunell; and his grand-niece, Krystina Crews.
